[U]nder rules in place, concealed handgun license holders (having undergone criminal background checks) can bypass long lines that could form at the Capitol because of the metal detectors now in place. Lots of lobbyists and several journalists have taken the [concealed handgun license] course for that reason.
There’s some buzz that to bypass the Texas Capitol metal detectors, you’ll not only have to show your CHL, but you’ll have to show your CH.
So we’d wind up with two lines: One, with metal detectors, to check for weapons, and another, for CHL holders, to make sure you have one.
If that happens, be sure to add it to your list of answers when your kids ask, “Mommy, why do all the other states make fun of us?”
